Child-like-joy — Surrounded by all the food and drink you can politely shovel in your mouth in four hours. Your heart beats faster, your eyes go wide, and then you notice this isn’t just food, this is the highest quality most luxurious of all foods in the world. In the entire WORLD. If food is tastefully displayed in staggering amounts that never go bellow half full. “Died and gone to heaven” this food experience is what my personal heaven would be compiled of, if I could magically never be full and not gain a pound.
I had read reviews on TripAdvisor, seen pictures like the ones here, but nothing can prepare you for the which-way-do-I-go feeling like a puppy surrounded by too many toys. There are several hotel brunches, but the Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s Friday brunch from 12:30 to 4pm is known as the “best” and I don’t doubt it though I haven’t had them all. I know that in Dubai Sunday is a working day and that Friday and Saturday are the typical days off, Friday is the perfect day for drinking and eating the day away.
Seating starts at 12:30 and at check-in are immediately handed a glass of Champagne, before you are escorted to your table. How many times have I thought “why not greet me at the door with champagne, it’s brunch you know I want it?” At Jumeirah Beach Hotel there is no waiting, no lines, and no limits. Except your personal intake might come painfully quick as there is simply too much, jaw dropping food.
At your seat there is a map; much like an amusement park, where each international cuisine is located.
Some of my favorites food stations:
- Spanish Specialties – pork room
- Foie Gras
- Gondola Italian Delicacies – Fresh Pasta
- Desserts Tuti Fruity
- Chocolate Nirvana
- Mojito, Margarita, Fresh Coconut, Brandy, Bubbly… yes yes yes
On Friday while the locals are at the camel races the foreigners are drinking, eating, and dancing to a live band.
Extravagant, expensive, outrageous, delicious, this is the experience of a lifetime. This is bunch Dubai style!
Excellent post. Very interesting, thanks!
Wow…stunning pictures and specially the food. Thanks for sharing.
Funny I used my i-phone for the pictures. It was such a classy event I was trying to be discrete so I am thrilled they turned out so nice. Thank you for reading and commenting. – Sara
